If you’ve been on one of our seasonal tours before, you already know how special our Winter Tour is. It’s something many of you look forward to every year — and trust us, we absolutely love guiding it. Sharing Spokane’s history, stories, lights, and winter charm with you is one of the highlights of our season.

So why make a change this year?

Why We’re Trying Something New

Winter is an incredibly busy time — for us and for many of our amazing local partners. Instead of adding more demands to already full schedules, we wanted to create a winter offering that still delivers all the storytelling, fun, and discovery you expect from Wander Spokane… but with more flexibility, less stress, and more room for play.

That’s why this year, we’re introducing the Wander Spokane Winter Experience Scavenger Hunt — a self-guided, joy-filled adventure designed to let you explore at your own pace, spend intentional time with your favorite people, and discover Spokane in a new way.

And honestly? We think it might end up being even better than the tour.

Why This Will Be Amazing

This scavenger hunt isn’t just a checklist. It’s the best parts of our Winter Tour — the stories, the local love, the hidden gems — blended with creative challenges, winter whimsy, and the freedom to explore on your own schedule.

Picture it:

• Photos and prompts that help you slow down and actually enjoy the holiday season

• Clues that take you into downtown and Riverfront Park in a way you’ve never experienced

• Those “I had no idea this existed!” Spokane tidbits we’re famous for

• Cozy stops at local businesses for bonus points (you'll definitely get hungry or may wanna shop)

• Laughing your way through challenges with friends or family

• And plenty of Instagram-able moments you’ll want to share

It’s playful, memorable, flexible, and intentionally crafted to spark joy — exactly what a winter experience should be.

How It Works

On Saturday, December 20th at 11am, the scavenger hunt will arrive in your inbox. You’ll then have until 7pm to explore at your own pace. No rushing. No strict schedule. Just a full day of festive exploring.

Expect a mix of easy wins, moderate challenges, and a few “time to Google this!” clues — all designed to be fun without being overwhelming.

It’s not a race — it’s an experience.

Prizes, Gifts & Superlatives

• Every paid participant receives a gift, simply for joining the adventure.

• Top score takes home the grand prize.

• And yes — our beloved superlatives are back. Expect things like “Grinchiest Grinch” or “Ugliest Sweater” to steal the spotlight.

• We'll give out prizes until they are all gone

You can also earn bonus points by supporting local shops — with extra bonus points for visiting our partner establishments (see website for the full list).

The Heart Behind It

More than anything, we wanted to create a winter experience that encourages connection, curiosity, and local love — without adding extra weight to an already busy season.

This scavenger hunt gives you the freedom to make the day entirely your own… while still giving us the chance to share what we love most about Spokane with you.
