Spokane Spring Adventures: Raft, Ride & Learn Wildcrafting May 15–17

Mark your calendars!

Spokane Spring Adventures is coming May 15–17 — a three-day weekend built around getting outside in the season that makes Spokane shine.

Wander Spokane is partnering with Wiley E. Waters River Trips and Herbal Expeditions — with additional local collaborators to be announced — to offer a series of outdoor experiences that highlight what’s right here: river, trail, and wild plants. The full schedule is still rolling out, but here’s what you can expect.

Raft the Spokane River

Spring flows on the Spokane River don’t last forever. Guided trips with Wiley E. Waters offer the chance to experience the river during one of its most dynamic times of year. It’s a different perspective on a waterway that runs through the center of our city.

Ride Riverside State Park

We’re also heading to Riverside State Park for a guided ride designed especially for those who want support navigating the park’s trail system. If you’ve been curious about riding there but unsure where to start — or you simply prefer to explore with someone who knows the terrain — this is your opportunity. It’s about access, confidence, and time on the trail.

Learn Wildcrafting in the Field

Wander Spokane has developed an interactive outdoor game that introduces wildcrafting in a hands-on way. Participants are given common “ailments” and challenged to identify plants growing in their natural environment that have traditionally been used to address them. It’s practical, engaging, and family-friendly.

Before the game begins, we’ll cover plant safety and ethical foraging basics.

For those who want to go further, Herbal Expeditions will offer a separate workshop focused on turning plants into usable preparations like salves, tinctures, and teas — connecting what you’ve identified in the field to how it’s actually prepared and used.

More details, partners, and registration information are coming soon.
